The Wildcraft Journey

A group of friends who were passionate about the great outdoors started Wildcraft in a garage in the late ‘90s. It was still early days for the outdoors and adventure industry in the country. Quality equipment remained a distant dream for most Indians. Spotting the opportunity, they channelled their passion for the outdoors into a company that would make international quality gear accessible to India’s growing outdoor community.

Be it outdoor-friendly clothing, ergonomically designed rucksacks or all-terrain footwear, Wildcraft as a head-to-toe outfitter has one mission – to engineer products for the savvy traveller with a backpacker’s mindset, that are versatile, multi-functional, lightweight, weather-resilient products; that enable people’s exploration of the outdoors.

Established in 1998, Wildcraft India Ltd. (WIL) is India’s premier head-to-toe products manufacturer and distributor, for all trek-to-travel solutions. Wildcraft serves more than 5million customers annually with sales on the upper side of USD 100 million.

THE NATION'S PRIDE

Wildcraft has been serving the armed forces, the paramilitary & police personnel through Defence and Police canteens across the country. It has now been accorded the privilege of equipping Jawans of the Indian Army with specially designed 90 Litre technical rucksacks.

The Founders

Started in the late 1990s by Dinesh K.S. (on the right), an engineer and an outdoor enthusiast, Wildcraft was born out of a need to create reliable and great quality outdoor gear and equipment in India. The story goes that during one of his outdoor excursions, Dinesh met with an accident. It was after this incident that the idea of Wildcraft was born.

Gaurav and Siddharth joined Wildcraft fresh out of B-School in 2000. It was a part-time role for both of them at that time as they had corporate careers of their own. It was in 2007 that they decided to take this passion in the outdoor space and turn their entrepreneurial zeal into a commercial opportunity.

Dinesh | Co-Founder

Dinesh, the founding partner, put the budding business on a steady course in the late 1990s to become what is now regarded as India's pioneering and leading youth brand in the travel, outdoor, and adventure industry. Dinesh is a kind-hearted, free-spirited mountaineer and climber who was born in Bangalore but spent the majority of his formative years in Jamshedpur. Dinesh, an engineer by trade, worked as a National Open Leadership School (NOLS) Field Instructor in the US and Canada before joining Wildcraft. He trained people in leadership, risk management, and outdoor skills. Dini, as he is affectionately known, guided Wildcraft during its "garage" years before leaving his operational positions a decade ago to pursue his desire to spend time in the laps of nature. Though Dini continues to function as the team’s true north, he now divides his time equally between planning and scaling peaks higher than 6000 meters!

Gaurav Dublish | Co-Founder

One of the two co-founders who, together with the other, oversees Wildcraft's operations and strategic approach. Gaurav, who is from Meerut and graduated with an MBA from NMIMS in 2000, has been a part of the Wildcraft team since the year 2000, right out of college. Gaurav, who has more than 22 years of expertise, has held the position of a full-time leader at Wildcraft since 2008. Before joining Wildcraft, Gaurav worked with Blow Plast and Standard Chartered Bank for more than seven years in Sales, Product Management, and Portfolio Management across India and the Middle East.

Siddharth Sood | Co-Founder

One of Wildcraft's two co-founders, who together are in charge of its operations and strategic approach; Siddharth is a native of Shimla and graduated from the NMIMS MBA programme in 2000. He also has been a part of the Wildcraft adventure since the year 2000, again right out of college. Sid (as he is fondly called) has assumed full-time management of Wildcraft since 2008 and has more than 22 years of expertise. Sid worked for Hewitt Associates and General Electric for more than seven years before joining Wildcraft, holding positions in Operations and Finance for their various companies operating in Europe and Asia.

The Leadership Team

Aditya Upadhyay

Head, Information Technology & Systems

Aditya has been with Wildcraft formally since 2015 though associated since 2009. He hails from Bhopal, is an MBA from ICFAI Business School & has work experience with ABS apart from Wildcraft. Aditya currently leads a team of system engineers, manages the ERP and related technologies and various systems of engagement while assisting business teams on their technology needs - like our Karakoram rucksack, truly capable of navigating complex environments.

Bhupinder Singh

Chief Product Officer

Bhupinder has been with Wildcraft since 2014. He hails from Ludhiana, is an NIIFT’98 post-graduate, with extensive experience spanning 3 years with United Colors of Benetton and 10 years with Adidas before joining Wildcraft. An avid backpacker early on and a prolific traveler still, with over 20 years in Product, Design and Development, Global Sourcing and Supply Chain Management; Bhupinder leads Wildcraft’s Product, Sourcing, Design, R&D & Creation Lab.

Kumar Rohan

Head, Categories & Business Strategy

Rohan has been with Wildcraft since 2012. He hails from Patna and is an IIM Kolkata PGP’06 graduate & prior to Wildcraft was with ITC. A meticulous planner, Rohan drives Wildcraft’s long term business objectives by exploring new opportunities in products and services while owning the strategic direction of the endeavours. As equanimous a partner as our Gangotri rucksack, all category verticals of Gear, Luggage, Clothing, Footwear and Essentials roll up to him.

Lakshmi Narayanan Vinod

Head, Business Support

Vinod joined Wildcraft in 2009. Another avid cricketer in the group; he hails from Coimbatore and is a Postgraduate in Business Management & Administration. Prior to Wildcraft, he was into Portfolio Management for Standard Chartered and Mashreq Bank, Dubai Operations. Vinod currently heads Wildcraft’s entire Business Support function & leads multi-disciplinary support teams across Sales, Customer Support, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing & Administration functions, while inspiring debates if he is more Capella or Capella Biz, internally.

Anuj Gupta

Head, E-Commerce

Anuj has been associated with Wildcraft for more than a decade. He is a B. Tech graduate in textile sciences & engineering and brings more than two decades of work experience, having worked with M/s Reebok, Adidas etc in the past. He has handled multiple roles across sourcing and merchandising function in Wildcraft, prior to him moving to E-commerce & now as head of all digital platforms.

Syed Faheem

Head, Institutional, Industries & International Business

Syed has been with Wildcraft since 2009. Again, one of the first team members to join, Syed hails from Chennai and is a Commerce graduate. Prior to Wildcraft, he was with Standard Chartered & Sutherland. Syed has led multiple functions over the years at Wildcraft, setting up its first branch outside Bangalore, to setting up Southern Regional Sales, to National Channel Development function, to its Global footprint. His muscular build notwithstanding, he is our true hauler - the Globetrotter. Currently he heads the Institutional, Industrial and the International Businesses of Wildcraft India.

Thomas Joseph P

Head, Human Resource

Thomas joined Wildcraft in March 2024. He hails from Kochi, Kerala. He is a postgraduate in Personnel Management from Pune University with an additional qualification in labour laws. He brings more than two decades of experience, having worked with M/S Future Group, Reliance Retail, etc. He leads the HR team to deliver the HR strategy, L&D and HR operations.

Prasenjit Kundu

Head, Design

Since 2014, Prasenjit has been with Wildcraft. He hails from Kolkata, is a 2005 NIFT graduate, and holds a 2008 Postgraduate degree in Apparel Design from NID. While a traveller himself, he is noted for his gastronomic adventures. Before Wildcraft, he was working with Dhama Innovations, a tech start-up, as one of its core team members since its inception in 2008. He leads a talented design team and has been instrumental in implementing and establishing a cohesive design process and thereby creating a unified VBL (Visual Brand Language) across all the brand’s product verticals

Sridhar Srinivasan

Head, Supply Chain Management

Sridhar joined Wildcraft in 2025 and leads the Supply Chain Management function, ensuring seamless integration of processes that power the brand’s reach and efficiency. A native of Bangalore, he holds a degree in Textile Engineering and an MBA. His professional journey spans over 20 years, having worked across leading organisations such as Page Industries, Reliance Retail, Calcom Cements, Clifton Trends, Future Group, and the Flipkart Group. Outside of work, Sridhar is an avid outdoor enthusiast and a seasoned high‑altitude trekker, reflecting the spirit of adventure that Wildcraft stands for.

Himanshu Ranjan

Head, Distribution & Franchisee

Himanshu has been with Wildcraft since 2013. He hails from Bokaro, is a 2007 Management graduate & prior to Wildcraft has a rich experience across FMCG, Lifestyle & Sports Goods sectors with Nestle, Timex & SSIPL. Travelling across the length and breadth of the country, Himanshu currently heads Wildcraft’s Distribution & Franchisee teams across India
